NASA leader Raila Odinga is seemingly coming back to good terms with former Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno after their past bitter political divorce that cost the former lawmaker his seat in 2017.
In a rare meeting held at the former Prime Minister's Capitol Hill office on Tuesday and attended by various leaders from Nyanza, Otieno was conspicuously present, possibly to confirm that the two political adversaries had buried their political differences.
In a post on his Twitter handle, Raila confirmed that the purpose of the meeting was to plan for the upcoming visit of former USA President Barrack Obama and Presidents; Uhuru Kenyatta and John Pombe Magufuli to the region.
Uhuru and Magufuli are set to visit Nyatike in Migori, while Obama is set to visit Siaya County.
Since losing his parliamentary seat in 2017, Otieno has maintained an uncharacteristically low political profile. However, of the last one week, since the death of Migori Senator Ben Oluoch, the former Minister has emerged from his shadows and is the chairman of the late Oluoch's funeral committee.
Is Raila about to resuscitate the political career of his former ally who later became his critic by briefly rebelling against ODM before making a u-turn? Time will tell.
