This is according to the latest poll conducted by the Star.

In the survey conducted last week, Raila gained five percentage points in the past month while President Uhuru went down by the same margin.Critics say that the fall in Uhuru's popularity could have arisen from the ongoing doctors strike together with that of university lecturers.

Also, the possible nurses' strike as well as the slow response to drought and pervasive corruption are said to have contributed to the shift in allegiance.

However, Uhuru still leads Raila by 20 per cent after garnering 48.1 per cent ahead of Raila's 28.2 per cent.
