Opposition leader Raila Odinga has said NASA is wholly prepared for the repeat election contrary to claims by Jubilee that he fears to go to the poll because he will be trounced. The opposition chief, however, said NASA will only take part in the poll after IEBC officials who bungled the August general election have vacated office. He said beginning Tuesday, NASA will hold peaceful protests outside Anniversary Towers which houses IEBC’s head office to push for the ejection from office of the electoral body’s CEO Ezra Chiloba.NASA claims Chiloba was the chief architect of rigging during the August election in which Raila lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta by over one million votes.“We don’t fear going to the election. But we will only participate if the IEBC is reconstituted. Starting Tuesday, we will hold demonstrations outside IEBC offices to remove Chiloba from office,” Raila said in Kawangware on Sunday when he campaigned in Dagoretti North constituency.Last week, NASA leaders Raila, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula declared the opposition coalition will embark on nationwide rallies to explain there will be no repeat presidential election as announced by the IEBC if their demands for the removal of the poll officials are not met.NASA accuses IEBC of working together with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party to compromise elections.Others NASA wants ejected from office before the repeat election include Betty Nyabuto who is Secretary in charge of Operations, James Muhati (Director ICT) and Immaculate Kassait who is Director Voter Registration and Elections Operations.Others are Praxedes Tororey, Director Legal and Public Affairs and Moses Kipkogey, Manager Legal Department and Advisor to the CEO. Tororey has already resigned.
