Raila receiving the Bible in church on Monday. [Facebook.com/ODM Reloaded]Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Monday declined to take oath as President after a woman gave him a Bible to swear-in.
Raila told believers in the church to go slowly on his planned swearing-in since it will happen at an appropriate time.
The woman who handed a Bible to him is said to have told the former Langata MP to drop his cowardice and swear-in as the people’s president.
"I feel your concern. That is why everywhere I go, I am always given a Bible to take oath. Let us be patient and wait for the right time,” he said.
“As NASA, we are confident at reclaiming our stolen victory. Those who think that we will forget and move on should wake up from their slumber as we will fight for our victory.”
The former premier has been under pressure from NASA supporters to take oath of office as President. NASA believes Raila won the August 8 election but was rigged out.
Last week he revealed there was an elaborate plan to swear him in early 2018 and urged opposition supporters to be patient.
“I am going to carry the Bible. Nobody will stop me from carrying the Bible. “It is better to stand up for the truth and die for something than die for nothing,” he said.
"We will progress until we get electoral justice. We will ensure that ultimately, the winner is declared the winner."
