Raila, a former prime minister, said that it is unfortunate for Jubilee to oppose the idea when they had a parrallel tallying system in the last general elections.
The Cord leader, who is contesting for his fourth time and probably last time, said that it constitutional to set a tallying center, adding that leaders aligned to Jubilee should stop spreading propaganda.
Speaking during an interview with Nation, Raila said that the system will ensure free and fair polls.
“The fact is that Nasa will do parallel tallying of its votes and we shall do it from here in Kenya where Jubilee also did it in 2013. It is absolutely legal and it is the norm in all jurisdictions that value free, fair and credible elections,” he said.
The opposition leader also maintained that he has no plans to announce his own results as speculated by a section of leaders aligned to Jubilee.
“We fully understand that declaration of final results is the work of IEBC. But we are entitled to tracking our numbers and nothing will stop us from doing it,” he said.
