Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has dismissed opinion polls conducted by the Star newspaper as diversionary and nonsense adding that they lacked credibility.
President Uhuru Kenyatta led yet again in the polls garnering a massive 54 percent approval against Odinga’s 32 percent.
In a statement by Director of Communications Philip Etale, Odinga said the polls were a total let down to the discipline of social research.
“Whereas we acknowledge the role played by pollsters in any given society, we have noticed that in Kenya, such polls are commissioned by regimes as a diversionary tact whenever there is a crisis,” read the statement.
“Even if the poll as published by the newspaper was genuine, the sampling is suspect given only 16 of 47 counties were involved, majority of which are Jubilee strongholds,” Etale added.
He said the Orange democratic team would not relent on its effort to fight for good governance despite the unfavorable opinion polls.
“We will continue pushing for good governance. Clearly, the polls do not add up and makes nonsense of the discipline of social research. Such lies in the name of survey give opinion polls a bad name.
