Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Sunday officially 'disowned' the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), months after pushing for a new commission led by former ally Wafula Chebakati.

Odinga said they (Opposition) will go ahead with their plans to set a parallel tallying center and release the results after the August polls despite the fact that, IEBC is the primary institution accorded the task.

The ODM leader stated that the move is in their bid to close down all lacunas that give room for Jubilee Party to rig as in 2013, he claimed.

"We have done our calculations and we are confident you registered in huge numbers, I won in 2013 but you know what happened this time round, we will win again," said Raila to the opposition supporters

"IEBC will announce their results and NASA will also do the same from our tallying center for comparison, we will not accept fake results," said Raila.

ODM leader Raila Odinga.

It is the IEBC who have the voters register but Odinga said as NASA they will also keep their own to check who had not voted and why.

"On the voting day, we will have a register of each county to see the members registered to vote, at 10 am the committee will check and see who has not yet voted and why," he said.

Even if the member is sick, we will send our youths to pick and drop him to ensure 100 percent voter turn out," he said.

This is not the first time NASA has threatened to set up a parallel tallying center, last week Wiper Party Kalonzo Musyoka, talked of the same.

However, the government through State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu said IEBC is the only body mandated with constitution to manage the elections.
