ODM party leader Raila Odinga on Friday disowned a move by his ODM party to remove Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula from his Senate minority position.

According to Raila, he is not aware of any plans by his party to remove Wetangula from the position. 

"It is unfortunate that I am reading in newspapers that my party is seeking to remove Wetangula from his post. No one has approached me to explain to me how the decision was arrived at," he said.

The NASA leader said ODM senators should stop frustrating Wetangula at the Senate.

"I don't see the reason as to why ODM senators should frustrate Wetangula. A meeting will be held to solve the matter amicably," he assured.

He called on ODM critics to keep off affairs of the party. 

"Critics should keep off affairs of ODM party. The party leadership is intact and no one will succeed in dividing the party using the backdoor. Supporters are urged to remain loyal as well political leaders whether in the office or not," he added. 

Raila was speaking in Kisii town when he addressed supporters on his way to the burial of Professor Tumbo Oeri at Mosocho area in Kitutu Chache South constituency Kisii County on Friday.
