ODM leader Raila Odinga has differed with his main adviser and trusted lieutenant James Orengo for the second time in as many months.
Over the weekend, a charged Orengo insisted that Raila will be on ballot in 2022 elections, remarks that did not go down well with politicians in the Jubilee faction.
"Those who think that Raila will not be on ballot will be in for a rude shock. My boss is strong and will be on ballot," he said at Migori.
And the remarks elicited sharp reactions forcing Raila, through his spokesman Dennis Onyango, to dissociate himself from the remarks.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala, said Raila called Orengo and asked him to desist from linking him to 2022 politics.
"I can confirm that Raila talked to my senior Orengo and asked him to drop 2022 debate. The remarks were purely Orengo's sentiments and not Raila," he said.
Last month, Raila is said to have faulted Orengo for allegedly instigating a coup in the senate that saw him replace Moses Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader.
For Odinga, he is currently committed in working with President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver his big four agenda.
