National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga has decided to involve traders in protests in different parts of the nation to ensure that Independent Electoral Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials resign before the fresh election.
According to Kenyans.co.ke, the opposition leader has maintained that he will not take part in the October Presidential election of the commission does not heed to his demands before that time comes.
“We will protest with small business owners even in Murang’a and Nyeri counties. When he uses rich people, we will use the common business persons,” said ODM MP Junet Mohammed on Raila’s behalf as quoted by the local daily.
The opposition MP, however, did not disclose whether the NASA top brass will be part of the demonstrations citing security concerns following the withdrawal of their security detail after they made the announcement to take to the streets.
The opposition leader has been firm that he will only go to the ballot box if he is assured of a free and fair election. According to Raila, the last general election did not reflect the will of the Kenyan people and he is not ready to give up in the fight against poll rigging.
