Lugari MP Ayub Suvula will be one of key NASA MPs to miss out influential positions in parliamentary leadership, reports the Nation.
In an intensive meeting chaired by Raila Odinga at Musalia Mudavadi’s house, NASA leaders moved in speed to avert a possible fallout following wrangles within the coalition over house leadership.
“We demand that Ayub Suvula is nominated as Deputy Minority Leader soonest,” demanded a number of ANC legislators’ moments before the meeting.
But at Riverside Drive, Mudavadi’s ANC was given powerful PAC chairmanship, in which Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi was picked instead of Savula, a senior party member.
“He could not be trusted with such sensitive position due to alleged close relationship with DP William Ruto. ODM MPs protested attempts to award his the post,” a source told the Sunday Nation.
Before elections, Savula was a staunch supporter of Ruto before changing mind in support of ANC, a partner in NASA coalition.
Also awarded key leadership position in ANC is Vihiga senator George Khaniri who will seat in powerful PSC.
