The decision of National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga to pull out of the Presidential race is a grave mistake, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has said.

According to Duale, also Garissa MP, Raila would have thought twice before dropping from the rerun after the Supreme Court ruled in his favor. In a series of tweets on his account, Duale reminded the opposition that there is a procedure he would have followed to drop from the contest.

“It must be also be noted that Raila Odinga did not withdraw his candidature by following the legally prescribed format through form 24A” read one of his tweets.

The lawmaker also said that the inclusion of Thirdway Alliance Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot in the race for the nation’s top seat has further complicated matters for Raila.

In his withdrawal speech, Raila said that he does not find it necessary to go back to the polls because the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has not met its demands. The opposition has been pushing for several reforms in the commission including resignation of CEO Ezra Chiloba.

On his part, Uhuru has said that Kenyans are tired of opposition’s actions.

“Kenyans are tired and want to move forward. If you do not want elections, step aside so that the country can move forward,” said the President.
