ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire has defended the party's decision to de-whip vocal Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the powerful PSC committee days after Mombasa retreat.
Minority Whip Junet Mohammed has written to the speaker seeking Jumwa's removal after she allegedly skipped Monday's meeting.
"I seek guidance on how to remove and hence replace a commissioner of the PS. Your agent consieration on this matter is highly appreciated," read the letter.
For weeks now, Jumwa has been leading a group of MPs in support of DP William Ruto, a move that may have not gone down well with his boss.
And the former Kitutu Masaba MP said only party loyalists should hold influential positions in Parliament.
"There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, such positions are meant for loyalists," he said.
On Tuesday, Jumwa denied claims that she deliberately avoided Raila's coastal retreat.
" I wrote to them via Whatsapp that I am out of the country thus I could not attend," she said in defense.
And according to Bosire, the party is set to continue with crackdown on rebel MPs with Jumwa serving as an example.
