Opposition leader Raila Odinga praised the late Chris Msando as a man of renowned integrity.
The NASA presidential candidate said that Msando died because of his refusal to mess with the August 8 elections leading to his torture to obtain passwords to the tallying and transmission system.
“For example, the effort to subvert the election went beyond rigging to include torture and murder, a week before election, of Chris Msando, the Electoral Commission Chief of Technology responsible for the security and integrity of the entire voting system. Because of his renowned integrity, he had received many death threats and had sought police protection in vain, the Electoral Commission’s chairman announced after his death, adding that he was tortured in order to obtain the passwords that protected the tallying and transmission system,” Odinga said in his speech in London at Chatham House, The Royal Institute of International Affairs.
Raila did not spare President Kenyatta whom he accused of using excess force on demonstrators and refusing to abide by the Kenyan constitution.
He also faulted Jubilee for amending electoral laws in the middle of an election crisis.
