Opposition leader Raila Odinga has revealed why President Kenyatta was released by the International Criminal Court over the 2007-08 post election violence case.
Speaking on Tuesday at Kasarani during the Wiper Democratic Party National Delegate Conference, Odinga said that the court sympathized with President Kenyatta and his deputy and released them uncharged.
Raila also bashed the President over his statement earlier on Jamhuri Day where the he said that the government would work on procedures to ensure that the nation withdraws from the court.
''The International Criminal Court sympathized with President Kenyatta, the court allowed him to vie for Presidency and later hold the office despite being a suspect,he and his deputy were allowed to assume power despite their ongoing cases at the Hague.Instead of criticizing the court,he should be grateful.''Said Raila.
Raila further said that the nation will remain in the Rome Statute at all cost.
''Kenya will remain in the ICC whether Kenyatta agrees or disagrees''He insisted.
The comments were stressed by former deputy President and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who questioned the President's decision.
President Uhuru's case was withdrawn after the judges found that there was no sufficient evidence to prove that he had taken part in ethnic violence which left over 1,100 Kenyans dead,600,000 other displaced and property desultory and looted.
