In his recent public tours, Uhuru has defiantly dismissed constitutional amendments insisting that he is keen to leave behind a good legacy.

"Kenya has lawas and a good constitution. All we need is honesty and truthfulness. Changing laws is not a solution to our problems," he said.

While details of their March 9th agreement remains scanty, Raila insists that constitutional changes was one of the agreement.

At Mombasa of Friday, Raila insisted that he is keen to have the constitution changed to give even the minorities a chance to rule.

"Nobody is going to prevent us from changing the constitution. That is the only way even an El Molo can lead this country.

"After the MOU, we agreed with Uhuru each to give nine points and then formed a committee to deliberate them the referendum," he stated.

Should his proposal sail through, the country could be having a referendum to expunge imperial presidency for parliamentary system of government.
