National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga has expressed confidence the opposition will win the case in which his coalition is challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

NASA on Friday night filed a petition at the Supreme Court arguing Uhuru did not genuinely win the August 8 presidential election and wants a fresh poll to be conducted.“We had to work very hard within a very short time to file our petition,” he said as he addressed the media outside the Supreme Court late Friday night.“The petition has enough evidence and we expect less of justice.”Part of the case according to the opposition includes a complaint that the IEBC had been slow in publishing scanned copies of papers detailing results from each of the country’s 40,883 polling station. If court upholds the election, Uhuru will be sworn in. But if Raila proves that rigging took place to an extent that would overturn the result, then Kenya will hold another presidential election within 60 days.“This petition asks the Supreme Court and by extension the people of Kenya to nullify the entire exercise because it is fatally compromised, in order to pave the way for fresh legitimate elections,” Raila said.
