Political analyst Hillary Obure says ODM leader Raila Odinga is a famous politician but not popular as Uhuru.
He says this is the reason Raila will lose in the 2017 elections.
Obure adds that there is difference between being famous and popular in Kenyan politics. He says Raila’s way of criticising every move in the government has made him famous but unpopular among the people.
“Raila is a famous politician and that may deceive him. He is unpopular though with the people and they will not vote him in. Raila has been a strong critic of the government even when it comes to developments projects yet Kenyans want that,” he says.
He adds that the large gathering during rallies does not mean they will vote him.
“Uhuru is popular among the people something that will see him re-elected in the coming general elections. He is never biased and the way he handles his political rivals has earned him popularity with people and they will vote him for a second time in the general elections,” says Obure.
