Odinga while addressing the press on Friday, said that State House is the president's residence and it should not be used for functions of national interest.

The opposition faulted President Uhuru's move to host weekly summits at State House instead of picking a neutral ground.

“That is where matters of government are supposed to be transacted. State House is only available for state functions," said Odinga.

He revealed that during the Grand Coalition government, State functions were held at a neutral venue like KICC.

“State House is the President’s residence. If you walk in there you are not talking to the President as equals. You are within his compound; it is like holding a meeting in a prison,” he said.

Odinga was speaking during a press briefing on the alleged Sh5 billion scandal at the health ministry.
