National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has dared President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack chiefs supporting the opposition saying the development will be a short-lived affair.
Addressing a campaign rally at Malaba Dispensary grounds on Thursday, Raila said the chiefs who Uhuru will send home will be reinstated by August 9 when he takes over as Kenya’s fifth president.“In any case Uhuru will be the former president by Wednesday when his duties will end. Chiefs should not be worried with threats of losing their jobs. Your jobs will be safe under my presidency,” he said.Flanked by Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong whom he endorsed as his preferred candidate for Busia gubernatorial race, Raila claimed the Jubilee regime has misappropriated about Sh350 billion since taking over power in 2013.“My administration will seal all the loopholes after the peaceful transition on August 9. It will be another Kenya, thus the need by NASA supporters not to relent from today to the announcement of the results.”“Don’t sleep on August 8. Women should deny men conjugal rights on the eve of the election to ensure they are energetic enough to guard the votes that will guarantee NASA victory.”He promised single parent mothers funds to do business, adding that older persons’ cash transfer will be given to those who have attained the age of 65 years and above.Raila said his government will revoke plans to establish a dry port in Naivasha. He said his administration will improve operations at the border points of Malaba, Busia, Namanga and Isebania to improve business.“Many clearing agents have suffered after losing jobs which is now left to agents from neighbouring countries. My government will also construct an Industrial Park in Busia,” he said.
