While addressing resident of Kwale during the final day of his four-day tour of the Coast region, Raila said the defectors, especially those from Cord strongholds (Coast, Nyanza and Western regions) who moved to Jubilee, will not make it during 2017 general election as they stand to be rejected at the ballot.

Raila paraded the six politicians who are seeking to challenge Kwale governor Salim Mvurya and asked those who will lose the nominations to rally behind winners of the orange party.

ODM deputy party leader Ali Hassan Joho said governor Mvurya and others who have defected should expect to suffer in the hands of Jubilee citing former Cabinet secretaries Kazungu Kambi,  Chirau Mwakwere and Charity Ngilu who he said were used and dumped.

"Soon you will see your governor Mvurya, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani, Kwale women rep Zainab Chidzuga, Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro and Mustafa Iddi among others being used and dumped by Jubilee," Joho said.
