Equally, Raila on Saturday dismissed claims that he has gone mum over the scandals since reconciling with Uhuru in March this year.

"I have not kept quiet on corruption scandals. It is only that I have raised many of such scandals before but nothing has ever been done by the government," he said.

In the secret peace truce with Uhuru, corruption was highlighted as one of the shared objectives that the two would work together to eliminate.

And at Kakamega, Raila said that Uhuru should now crack the whip or risk having his reputation tainted forever.

"He has no option on these issues. Some of the officials linked to the scandals have special relationship with he presidency.

"The most important thing he can do is firing them. His reputation will be grossly tainted if he cannot. This is the time to act or walk alone," he said.

Over the last two weeks, the country is grappling with mega corruption scandals with NYS department being locked for the second time over Sh9 billion theft.

Separately, Uhuru is said to have instituted a secret team of NIS which is closely working with investigative agents to establish alleged corruption in government.
