Raila’s remarks come barely a fortnight after Homabay Town MP Peter Kaluma engaged in a physical fight with his opponent, Washington Ogaga in his presence.

Speaking in Nyamira on Friday, the former Prime Minister urged party members to report members engaging in violence for disciplinary actions.

“ODM is a democratic people which do not entertain violence. Those who think that they will taint the name of the party and go scot free are dreaming,” said Raila.

“It is your responsibility to report such people to our party structures for an appropriate action. We will ensure that those involved are punished according to the law,” he added.

Raila said the party will hold free and fair nominations and warned party officials believed to be spreading rumours that they were in possession of party tickets.
