President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that NASA Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga is to blame for Deputy President William Ruto’s woes at the International Criminal Court (ICC) based at The Hague, Netherland.
Uhuru, who is seeking re-election, said that the opposition leader masterminded the case filed against Ruto following the 2007/2008 Post Election Violence (PEV).
"Raila has again started inciting Kenyans as he did in 2007 thus framing DP William Ruto. Yeye ndiyo aliwasha moto (He is the one who ignited the fire," Uhuru said, as quoted by Star.
The head of state also said that the recent remarks of the opposition leader are likely to trigger violence after the August general elections. Uhuru further claimed that Raila used the same tactic to bring chaos into the nation.
"Yesterday he was talking about 'wenye inchi' and 'wenye wanafaa kurudi kwao' (those who belong and those who should return to where they came from) ... and that is the same language he used to create conflict last time," he added.
On his part, Raila has accused the president of spreading propaganda. The leader of the opposition claims that the Jubilee government has failed to meet its promises. He has also exuded confidence that he will beat Uhuru.
