Opposition leader Raila Odinga has said he has forgiven President Uhuru Kenyatta over insults he traded during the 2017 race to the top seat.
Speaking on Thursday during the prayer breakfast meeting at Safari Park in Nairobi, Raila said he had no hard feelings against Uhuru even after he called him a madman.
"We traded insults during the period and before the handshake we had deep deliberations where he told me I insulted him. I also told him that he called me kimundu muguruki (madman), but today I forgive you and tender my apologies," Raila said.
The President also apologized to Raila and the entire NASA camp over anything he might have done that hurt the wing.
Deputy President William Ruto and NASA's Deputy President candidate Kalonzo Musyoka also asked for forgiveness.
The 16th prayer breakfast turned out to be a reconciliatory function where the top leaders called for a healing of the nation.
Raila said that never again should a Kenyan die over political competition.
