Some of the issues addressed during the meeting include the impeachment of Speaker Ann Adul and the wrangles among leaders in Kisumu County.

"As you know, there have been some issues regarding the Kisumu County assembly which have been affecting service delivery in the county," said the Cord leader.

"The party appointed a taskforce to come and investigate particularly the issue of the impeachment of speaker of the county assembly," he said.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting at the county assembly premises, the former prime minister said that some of the matters discussed included recommendations regarding the workings of the county governments.

"We had a very extensive consultations where all stakeholders had an opportunity to express themselves. It has been a very useful and productive meeting and we pointed the way forward," said Odinga.

He added: "We hope from here there with be peace and understanding among all the leaders in the county."

The meeting, however, failed to reconcile the leaders who accused each other of mudslinging.

Those present were Governor Ranguma, his deputy Ruth Odinga, speaker Ann Adul, members of the county assembly and the executive.

Former county executive for roads and transport Vincent Kodero criticised Mr Ranguma over failure to follow due process in firing the five members of the executive in January.
