Speaking during the launch of the voter listing drive for Nairobi County at Uhuru Park, Raila claimed that the National Registration Bureau has been frustrating residents in Cord strongholds by sending their ID cards to the wrong locations instead of their stations of registration.

"We have a lot of ID cards in Western which belong to people in Eastern and the ones for Western are at the Coast and so on and so forth,” said Raila.

He alleged that the confusion is done deliberately to ensure opposition supporters lack the vital document required for anyone to be registered as a voter.

"The incidences are deliberate and intended to deter potential voters in opposition’s strongholds from registering as voters," he said.

The former Prime Minister proposed that the list of people whose ID cards are ready be published on an open website to avoid the confusion.
