Opposition leader Raila Odinga is no longer 'filled with hatred towards the Kikuyu community', a Jubilee Senator has said.

According to Elgeyo Marakwet lawmaker Kipchumba Murkomen, Raila has been an enemy of the 'House of Mumbi' due to politics.

"Raila for the last 3 elections ran a campaign against one community, the Kikuyus because his main competitors were from Central," he said in a tweet.

The Senator was referring to the 2007 poll where Raila faced retired President Mwai Kibaki and 2013 and 2017 elections where his main challenger have been the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The former Prime Minister lost all the polls but he has maintained that victory has always been stolen from him.

Now that Raila is likely not to face a strong competitor from the Mt Kenya region in the next election, Murkomen claims, the ODM boss has identified a new target, the Kalenjins.

Reacting to Monday's incident where ODM legislators led by Homa Bay Women Rep Gladys Wanga launched a scathing attack on Deputy President William Ruto where they termed him 'Kenya's number one enemy', Murkomen, who is also the Senate Majority Leader, said that was a clear indication Raila was now pointing his gun at the Rift.

"Today he has officially through Gladys Wanga and Company launched a new line focused on Kalenjins just because his 2022 competitor is William Ruto," Murkomen posted.

The war of words between Ruto and Raila seems to be far from coming to an end.
