Ex-powerful minister and presidential candidate Cyrus Jirongo, has revealed that opposition leader Raila Odinga helped him secure job in the neighbouring Tanzania.
Prior to October repeat polls, which Raila had abandoned, Jirongo was rendered bankrupt by a Nairobi court, even after supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection.
"Te top Jubilee leadership had abandoned me hence I had to share my problems with Raila who helped me get a job in Tanzania," he said on Friday.
The former Lugari MP was speaking in Homa Bay, where he had attended burial for former KANU strongman Okiki Amayo's wife, Julia Amayo.
At the funeral, Jirongo claimed, he flew together with Raila to the neighbouring country, where the latter introduced him to President John Magufuli.
"Raila is the one who introduced me to the Tanzanian president and PM who later gave me a job. I am now living comfortably," he said, although he did not reveal the nature of the job.
President Magufuli and Raila share cordial relationship and the two have visited each other in a number of occasions.
During his first tour as president to Kenya in 2016, Magufuli openly criticised corruption scales in the country.
