Speaking at a Friday rally in Narok, Odinga intimated that he was working on strengthening the Orange party because there were sharp contrasts between the party and the others in the coalition.

Showing dissociation from the Cord brigade, Odinga urged those present to stick to popularising ODM and not Cord as a wider coalition.

“I ask the leaders who will get a chance to address the rally to steer clear of Cord issues. Let us talk about how we will strengthen our party and clinch the presidency next year’s election. There is a difference between ODM and other parties, just like in religion where Muslims cannot be Christians,” Odinga said as quoted by the Nation.

Recently, Odinga has been seen staging countrywide rallies with ODM faithfuls and critics argue that the Cord coalition’s dead end might be in the offing.
