NASA leader Raila Odinga has claimed he has information on what might have caused fire at Kijiji slums in Langata.
The fire left five people dead with hundreds homeless.
Speaking on Sunday, Raila claimed that the fire was an arson attack funded by land grabbers.
In the past there has been protracted attempts to evict the residents from the land to pave way for private developers.
“We hear that this was a ploy by some people to grab this land. We know who the land grabbers are, we will not allow them to succeed in their plot,” Raila said.
He claimed that the incident was a forceful evictions of area resindents.
After the inferno, victims rejected a county plan that would have seen rebuilding of new structures begin.
The opposition chief was in the area to donate foodstuffs and mattresses to victims.
