NASA leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday talked more on the reasons why he withdrew from the October 26, polls and hinted of a possibility that the opposition coalition will have a new candidate in the fresh polls.

According to High Court ruling in the Ekuru Aukot case, fresh elections should be conducted involving all the eight candidates who participated in the August 8 polls.

"I don't have to always be on the ballot but I want my candidate or whoever will be on the ballot to participate in a free and fair contest," said Odinga.

"There is no need going to an election whose outcome is already predetermined," he added.

From the Odinga statement, many political pundits have claimed that there is a possibility for the opposition leader to step down and front another candidate to face President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Some unconfirmed murmurs indicated that a Kalonzo-Mudavadi card could be in the offing.

However, Siaya Senator James Orengo has maintained that Odinga will still be on the ballot.
