Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa has dismissed Cord leader Raila Odinga as an old politician with old political approaches and who should retire from politics.
Speaking at Mugumoini chief's camp where he attended a fundraiser by women to build a public toilet in the area, Ichung’wa said that Cord has failed to perform its role as the opposition. He accused the opposition of trying to block developmental issues for the people by politicising every move by the government.
He said if indeed Raila is a good leader he should applaud the Jubilee administration where it is due and not always trying to paint negatives only.
“Those are old politics that were there in the 90s and at this time and age they are not relevant. Looking at Cord as an opposition, they are old politicians that have been criticising the government since the times of retired president Moi,” said Ichung’wa.
He also refuted claims from the Cord leader that President Uhuru had failed to deliver stating that Jubilee was on track and by 2017, the government will have accomplished its manifesto.
Ichung’wa called on Kenyans to vote wisely come 2017 and not take back Kenya in the 90s where politics was all about blocking development for the people. He said Cord were that type of coalition where 70% were in Moi’s regime.
