Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's Bondo home, the Opoda farm was on Sunday night invaded by armed robbers who managed to steal some livestock.
Reports from police stated that the robbers managed to get through the highly guarded farmhouse and harassed the security guard before running out with some sheep, geese, and goats.
The guard who was on duty recorded a statement at Bondo police station while Siaya county DCIO Samuel Cheruiyot confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing.
However, in a new twist, Siaya county commissioner Joseph Narengo hinted that they were still interrogating the workers at the farmhouse because there are claims that they might have colluded with the robbers.
"Geese cannot be handled by strangers. We will soon establish who among the workers were involved in the robbery," said Narengo.
It is surprising how the Opoda Farm that is guarded by the elite Rece squad was invaded, close sources have also revealed that the Odinga family has so far fired all security and casual workers over fears that the raid must have been an inside job.
