After four decades of fighting for social equity and good governance, Raila Odinga was on Monday honoured before jetting the country on Wednesday.

Speaking when he received Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts Award in London, Raila said he will continue to ensure his peace deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta is implemented.

The award honours best personalities in showbiz, entertainment, sports and leadership in the black and ethnic communities across the world.

"Most African countries have disputes that last the life of parliament. We have perpetual conflicts in these countries," said the former Prime Minister..

He added: "We decided that we did not want to be prompted by any foreigner to tell us ow to solve our issues."

In unlikely turnout of events, Raila shook hands with Uhuru, a move that was a culmination of protracted electioneering period in the country.

While etails of their agreement remain scanty, Raila has however been seen attending crucial government functions.
