The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has exuded confidence in ousting President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 general election.
Speaking at the Diani showground in Kwale County, the opposition leader said President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto entered the State House through rigging and out of sympathy because of the International Criminal Court (ICC) cases against humanity they were facing in 2013.
“Jubilee did not defeat us... they stole and got sympathy votes because of ICC. Kenyans were then also ignorant on the duo’s character but now that they are known it will be hard for them,” Raila was quoted by the Standard on Saturday.
The former Prime Minister said the opposition alliance has sealed all loopholes Jubilee may exploit to rig next month's polls, saying it was now inevitable that Uhuru and Ruto were going home after August 8.
"ICC is no longer a campaign issue and the court has ruled that presidential results announced at constituency level would be final. The High Court yesterday (Friday) cancelled tender given to Al Ghurair to print presidential ballot papers. They (Jubilee) wanted more papers printed for stuffing during the election day. All the loopholes have now been blocked," he said.
The ODM leader urged residents to vote out Jubilee for 'doing nothing' to address the plight of Kenyans.
“Everywhere we go Kenyans are crying because of bad leadership. Last night nine people were attacked and killed and more died last month but the government is doing nothing about it,” the NASA leader added.
