ODM leader Raila Odinga is now under pressure to explain how he acquired a property in Kisumu worth Sh1.2 billion.
The house, which resembles Kenya's State House, was constructed between 2008-13 where Odinga was Prime Minister, earning Sh1.2 million per month.
Sports Minister Rashid Echesa, a former ODM youth league chair and a confidant of DP William Ruto, now wants the former MP to explain how he acquired the property amid lifestyle audit.
"We have heard some people pointing fingers at others saying so and so owns a house, helicopter and fleet of cars. Even him (Raila) must be ready for the audit," he said.
"By then, he was earning Sh1.2 million and yet he built a house worth 1 billion. He must also explain to Kenyans," he added.
At Malava, Echesa said he was not worried of lifestyle audit but questioned the law which the state will use to conduct the exercise.
While President Uhuru Kenyatta is rooting for the audit as a way of curbing corruption, a section of politicians allied to DP William Ruto have rejected it as witch-hunt.
