ODM Party leader Raila Odinga on Saturday inspected the party's projects in Mombasa County.
Upon his arrival in the Coastal city, the opposition leader was welcomed by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho. The former prime minister spent part of his Saturday morning inspecting projects established by Joho including the 3000-seating capacity Stadium in Nyali.Raila also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he was accorded by his deputy Joho, other ODM leaders and supporters."I am happy to be here today. As you know, we are anticipating a huge rally tomorrow. But I first had to inspect some of the development projects executed by the ODM government here in Mombasa," Raila said.The opposition leader took a swipe at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for failing to keep their pre-election pledges such as setting up stadiums across the nation."Kenyans are tired of the lies that Jubilee tell; where are the five international stadia? Where are the 10,000 kms of roads? Time is up," he said. The opposition also called upon the government to account for tax collected from Kenyans.Let them demonstrate what they have done with the Sh 8 trillion that you, as tax payers, have given Jubilee since they took office," he added.On his part, Joho said they will organize a football match once the stadium is complete as requested by Raila."He has even told us that when the pitch is done, we will hold a football tournament between the youth and the old," Joho said.
