National Assembly Majority Leader has yet again hit out at Cord co-principal Raila Odinga accusing him of making it hard for President Kenyatta to discharge duties.
Speaking at parliament on Thursday, Duale said it is absurd for Raila who claims to have fought for democracy over the decades to sabotage the rule of law and the constitution.
He said previous presidents have been appointing the electoral commissioners but Raila is opposed to President Kenyatta doing the same despite being a democratically elected president.
"Mr Speaker, history repeats itself. The previous presidents have been appointing who to oversee the elections. For a matter of fact, when Raila was a Prime Minister, he appointed some of the commissioners who are in the IEBC and now he wants the to go home unconstitutionally and unlawfully. What is hard with President Kenyatta appointing the IEBC commissioners as the other presidents have been doing?" the Garissa Township MP said.
Duale further said Raila is 'hungry for power'.
"It cannot be that when he loses he blames the electoral body. Three times are enough to tell him that he won't succeed even if his closest allies are appointed in the electoral body," added Duale.
Raila Odinga, the ODM party leader has said that the IEBC commissioners must be sent packing in a spiral of rallies. He alleges that the commissioners are not fit to oversee any other election claiming that the last election was marred with intense irregularities.
The commissioner led by the Chairman, Ahmed Isaak Hassan has said they won't resign until they are showed the allegation they are being accused of.
Hassan was on Tuesday cleared by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission and the parliamentary Justice and Legal Affairs Commitee from the Chickengate Scandal.
