Raila could have sold out in the recent 'golden handshake' he had with President Uhuru Kenyatta to cool down political temperatures in the country.

This is according to a section of angry Kenyans who took to social media to castigate him over the drama meted on former Nairobi governor aspirant and self-declared militia general Miguna Miguna.

On Monday, authorities at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport confined and deported Miguna out of the country and Kenyans on social media are feeling that things would have been different if Raila wanted Miguna to stay.

"If the so-called Baba was honestly at the airport for the sake of Miguna I'm perfectly sure he would have called a presser. (This is a) man eat man society," said Kisiangani Kisiorio.

"What if all the fracas, drama, brouhaha, kerfuffle, melee, hubbub, ruckus, tumult and racket at JKIA after the arrival of Miguna Miguna was another up sleeve card, pulled on us by Cambridge Analytica? The handshake may, or may not, have been a retirement strategy, it could also have been an entry strategy," wrote poet Oyoo Mboya.

Myles Nyabuto Clint said: "The downfall is real..the lakeside community will terribly fall in the coming years...too much adoration on one person...its very suicidal."

"So when is William Ruto receiving his share of the 'Mighty Golden Handshake' hawked around by Baba? And by the way, with/out the handshake, Ruto's presidency is INEVITABLE," said Kipkoech Arap Moutor.

Joseph Wagatira said: "Let's leave politics to politicians. I believe Raila had the bargaining power to enable Miguna back to the country but he does not want that (be)cause he sees Miguna as an obstacle to what he is going to get from the handshake deal he and Uhuru had."

Raila has in the recent past been criticised as being a selfish politician, with pro-Jubilee critics in Nairobi alluding to the fact that not much changed in Kibra under his leadership as area MP.
