President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again lashed out at Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, accusing him of fueling discord and ethnicity in the country.
Speaking on Wednesday during his tour of Central Kenya, the Head of State called on the locals to reject Mr Odinga's candidature, warning that the former Prime Minister is a threat to the country's security and cohesion.
“How can a person who claims to be a national leader call for the eviction of one community? No leader can genuinely say they want to lead the country if they are threatening the prevailing peace,” he stated.
“We have achieved so much, because we have had peace in the country but that peace is under threat if Raila goes on making such statements,” he added.
President Kenyatta cited Mr Odinga's remarks during a political rally in Kajiado County a couple of days ago, where he allegedly made inciting remarks.
Mr Odinga has since dismissed those claims.
