Taita Taveta MP Naomi Shaban has his out at NASA leaders saying their plan to have the August 8 elections postponed will not work.

Addressing supporters in Mwatete on Wednesday, Shaban claimed that NASA is using court cases with the aim of having the polls delayed.The MP claimed that NASA presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga is afraid of facing President Uhuru Kenyatta in the polls because he knows he will lose.“NASA leaders should know that they have no powers to influence postponement of the August 8 general election,” said Shaban, as quoted by the Nation.The MP claimed that NASA does not have the interests of Kenyans at heart and wants to frustrate the electoral process.She appealed to Kenyans to be calm and peaceful as they wait for the election. Shaban also took the opportunity to drum up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid, arguing that the Jubilee administration has fulfilled its promises and deserves another term in office.“We are getting the development we have been yearning for since independence. We in Taita Taveta are getting our independence now and we are rallying behind Uhuru Kenyatta who is delivering that progress,” she said
