The politics by Cabinet Secretaries has started taking a personal direction after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s loyalist Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kinjuri termed ODM chief as irrelevant, backward and destructive.
The Devolution CS believes that Raila Odinga should never be given a chance to lead Kenya. He urged Kenyans not to vote for Odinga and advised the veteran politician to retire from politics.
Speaking in Taita-Taveta County, Mwatate sub-county at Kwa Mnengwa while distributing relief food, Kiunjuri warned Odinga against his constant attacks on Jubilee. He said Raila lacks an admirable record while in government.
“This guy (Mr Odinga) is destructive and backward…he has become irrelevant until he cannot even explain his own rhetoric,” said the CS as quoted by Nation.
Kiunjuri also cited the statements by other NASA principals about Raila’s inability to beat Uhuru as a fact as opposed to politicking.
“Even his colleagues in the National Supper Alliance (Nasa) have asserted that Mr Odinga cannot beat President Uhuru Kenyatta in August polls, how do you expect him to win if his closest colleagues have disqualified his chances of winning elections?” Kiunjuri asked.
On Odinga’s age, the Devolution CS advised ODM’s patron to quit because he is too old to lead.
“He is over 70 years and hence he should retire from politics,” he added.
