Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo has told off former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over his recent attack on Deputy President William Ruto.
Njomo said that Raila has no moral authority to question DP Ruto’s 2022 plans.Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Monday, the MP said that DP Ruto has every right to move across the country and sell his 202 agenda.He said that Raila is jealous of DP Ruto’s political progress and wants to taint his name through malicious attacks.“The former Prime Minister should show respect to DP Ruto and sop these ugly statements he is making,” he said.Njomo said that Raila is free to campaign if he wants but should stop malicious attacks on other politicians.The Jubilee MP said that Raila’s vicious attacks will not stop Mt Kenya region from supporting and voting for DP Ruto in 2022.“We are firmly behind DP Ruto and whoever thinks we are playing around should wait and see,” he added.Raila has faced sharp criticism for questioning DP Ruto’s movements across the county.On Sunday, Raila told off the DP, accusing him of engaging in premature campaigns ahead of the 2022 general election, instead of supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta in realising the Big Four agenda.Raila said that it is not a guarantee that DP Ruto will be president in 2022, and further accused him of going around the country dishing out money and promising people that he will be the nation’s next president.Raila and DP Ruto’s political relationship has remained tense despite the March 9 handshake between President Kenyatta and the former prime minister.Political pundits have opined that DP Ruto is feeling threatened by the Uhuru, Raila handshake.
