There is nothing Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka stands to gain by walking with National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga, Kitui South Member of Parliament Rachael Nyamai has said.
According to Nyamai, Kalonzo risks taking the Kamba nation to the opposition if he continues to hang on Raila, who is taking a fourth stab at the nation’s top seat.
The lawmaker said that the opposition stands no chance of beating President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto as we head to a fresh election in October.
“Kalonzo is a great leader who has been misled politically by the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga,” said Nyamai, as quoted by Citizen. The vocal lawmaker has reminded the residents of Ukambani to snub the opposition and vote for the ruling party in order to enjoy the fruits of the new government.
The sentiments of the lawmaker come after Kalonzo and Raila opted to drop of the Presidential race citing lack of confidence in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). Raila has been pushing for the resignation of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials linked to election malpractices in the August exercise.
