Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has told Deputy President William Ruto to respect opposition chief Raila Odinga, adding that they belong to different leagues.

Speaking in Nairobi on Sunday when he led an ODM rally at Mathare, Joho promised DP Ruto a head to head fight in the 2022 presidential elections.

"I want to tell Ruto that Raila is not in his league. Ruto has been telling us they will put our house (Cord) in order if we don’t. I want to tell him I will meet him one on one in 2022,” he said, as quoted by The Star.

Joho asked ODM supporters to register as voters in large numbers, as the prepare to oust Jubilee from the helm of power.

The ODM deputy party leader promised to make Raila's presidential bid a reality, adding that he will be taking his campaigns to other parts of the country including Eldoret, which is Ruto's hometown.

Joho was accompanied by Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and other elected ODM leaders who declared their support for Raila's bid.
