Speaking in Karen on Thursday during the relaunch of Labour Party of Kenya(LPK), the former ODM secretary general said Kenyans must fight the mentality that parties will fade off without some politicians.

"We have to move away from believing that without Raila there is no ODM, that without Uhuru and Ruto, there is no Jubilee. We need to escape from this downward mentalities," said Namwamba.

The MP said Kenyans need to join parties built on clear principles and polices rather than parties built around various political personalities.

"Kanu disappeared with Moi. Ford Kenya collapsed after Jaramogi and Kijana Wamalwa. Ford Asili existed with Matiba. We must move away from parties built on personality cults to parties anchored on institutional identity, defined by clear policies," he said.

Ababu called on Kenyans to join LPK saying: "The Labour Party is an issue-based Party. It is a party bigger than the individuals in it." Ababu is the LPK party leader, Julia Ojiambo the chairperson while TV Journalist David Makali is the secretary general.
