Namwamba has said that Raila is scared of his influence in the larger Western region, hence his recent tour to the vote-rich region.

He also said Raila was constantly losing close allies and supporters as the 2017 general election draws closer.

The Budalang’I MP was speaking in Amagoro on Saturday.

Namwamba resigned as ODM secretary general, citing frustration and lack of involvement in Cord affairs in Western, days after Funyula MP Paul Otuoma also resigned as ODM vice chairman.

“When Mudavadi left ODM I was sent to come and neutralise his influence in Western. Now that I have left he personally spent a week in the area trying to win back voters,” said Namwamba as quoted by the Nation.

The legislator also said he is ready to work with Jubilee administration and will soon launch a party ahead of 2017 polls.

Namwamba also met grassroots leaders from Teso North and Teso South.
