Speaking at a funds drive in St Judes Catholic Church in Mavoko on Sunday, area MP Patrick Makau, Kathiani’s Robert Mbui and Peter Mathuki (East African Legislative Assembly) said Raila had betrayed the opposition coalition’s co – principals Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya).

“Kenya is prepared for opposition government in 2017. We have been united as Cord but having seen ODM move out of the coalition, we as Wiper members have also decided to go our way,” said Makau.

Makau said Wiper party will ensure that its leader Kalonzo Musyoka emerges the winner to become the Kenya’s fourth president in the forthcoming polls.

He said Raila should surrender his quest for presidency and support Kalonzo’s bid as had been agreed in 2013.

“Raila tried in 1997 but was defeated. He won in both 2007 and 2013 elections but his votes stolen, he should now give Kalonzo an opportunity to send Jubilee administration home early on Election Day,” said Makau.

Makau said Wiper had decided it will liberate the country from the ruling coalition’s oppressive and poor leadership.

“We will get to the ballot with our party as Wiper if ODM and Ford Kenya decide to work in isolation, Raila is the watermelon now,” said Makau.

He said Kenyans should not make a mistake of reelecting Jubilee to form next government.

Both Mathuki and Mbui echoed Makau’s sentiments that it is high time for Raila to pass the presidency baton to Kalonzo.

“Wiper is ready to get to Statehouse in 2017. Cord had an agreement which placed Raila Odinga in first position to rally for presidency then and Kalonzo Musyoka as next candidate for 2017, the agreement should be honored,” said Mbui.

Mbui said the Wiper leader should be given opportunity to be the Cord’s torchbearer, “Kalonzo has to be given the coalition’s presidency ticket.”
