Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga has dismissed National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale's claims that ODM governors fund party leader Raila Odinga's activities.
Rasanga, instead asked Duale to table the evidence to prove his allegations with the EACC instead of tarnishing people's names.
He said the former Prime minister is not poor to borrow money from governors, adding that on many occasions, he (Rasanga) has sought help from Raila.
“Let him tame his mouth and table the evidence of what he is alleging to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission for further action, rather than soiling our names for political expediency,” he said as quoted by the Star.
He now wants Duale to respect Raila, saying they are not equals. “Duale is supposed to be arrested for giving false information to the public,” he added.
He, at the same time likened the Garissa Township MP to a ward rep, saying he was elected by less than 3,000 votes in the 2013 elections.
According to Rasanga, Duale cannot match governors' political clout.
“Some of my MCAs were elected with more than 3,000 votes that Duale rode on to Parliament,” Rasanga said.
